Lidl is opening a new outlet today in connection with its Haapaniemi store in Kuopio. The outlet will sell end-of-line non-food products at reduced prices.
Outlets are still relatively rare for Lidl, as there are only 18 of them alongside stores across Finland. The opening of the new outlet at the Haapaniemi store was made possible by a neighbouring retail space becoming available, says campaign coordinator Sami Lempinen.
According to Lempinen, the outlet will not increase the production or order volumes of goods. Instead, it is a way to sell already existing products in a centralised manner.
The selection includes kitchenware, tools, leisure products, clothing and seasonal goods. Products will be sold at discounts of 30–70% off their original prices.
– On average, the price of a product is half of the original, says store manager Eveliina Väätäinen.
The outlet is located in its own space next to the Haapaniemi store. Purchases can be paid for by card at the outlet’s own self-checkout or inside the Lidl store.
– The outlet is a nice addition to our store and has already attracted interest in advance, Väätäinen says.
During the opening week, the outlet section will be open from Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
